Think critically

Beware of enculturation: the process of accepting as truth dogma, ideas, ontology, and opinions that were acquired from one’s own upbringing and immediate environment, without looking ‘outside of the box’ and viewing your views from another perspective. Enculturation can be a dangerous thing. It is a sad thing that people still choose a way of worship that suits their own beliefs and reject dogma that can be closer to truth: they do not perceive their own enculturation and lack critical thinking skill. To find truth, one has be be prepared and ready to accept teachings that could be against ones’ own beliefs – this is done through a neutral stance and critically examining the data: critical thinking.
