Control of thought

It all begins with control of the mind. Many of us spend our entire lives ignorant of the necessity of controlling our emotional states – controlling one’s thoughts in contrast to having emotions control them. Without emotional control, one has a lesser chance of controlling ones’ life and destiny. Self-discipline is the avenue to attain control over thoughts and daydream-like self automation. Many lack this.

Both Jesus and Budda, two of humanity’s great teachers said (to paraphrase): “You are what you think”. (Proverbs 23:7, Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)
